Leave a Clear Trail Back to the Work
A routine can be hard to restart when returning means figuring out where you left off.
Here’s a small thought experiment: before ending a session, write down the very next action—not “continue the project,” but “draft the opening paragraph” or “check the two unanswered questions.” Add when you’ll return to it, if you know.
That note doesn’t create more discipline; it removes one decision from the next start. The useful measure is whether it makes re-entry easier, not whether you keep a perfect streak.
Try it with one commitment this week. At your next review, keep the habit, change the note, or drop it if it isn’t helping.
