Revise the Story Without Erasing the Chapter
When a chapter changes, it’s easy to tell its story as either “I should have known better” or “I have to stay the same.” Neither leaves much room to learn.
Try writing two lines:
- Then: What was I trying to learn, protect, or make possible with the choices I had?
- Now: What do I choose to keep, and what would I do differently with what I know today?
This doesn’t require defending every past choice or becoming a different person overnight. It lets the earlier version of you belong to the story while giving the next chapter a real choice.
