Change the method without losing the point

Natalie Hussam Masarwa’s “A good routine leaves room for choice” centres agreement and flexibility; Sondos Salem Al-Hawamdeh’s “Move Fast vs. Get It Right?” highlights the cost of prioritising speed or precision. Together, they suggest a useful question before changing a team process: Which purpose must stay intact, and which parts of the method can change?

For example, a team might keep the goal of catching important errors while letting people simplify the documentation or choose how to divide the review. Agree the quality threshold first, then revisit whether the change saved time without removing useful safeguards. That makes the trade-off visible—and gives the people using the process a say in it.
