When an Insight Becomes Clear Enough to Use

A thought experiment: suppose a journal entry says, “I need more room.” It may be a meaningful image—but it doesn’t yet tell you what to change, or prove what the feeling means.

Try translating it in three steps: keep the original phrase, write one plain-language possibility (“I want one evening without plans”), then choose a small action that would test whether that possibility fits. The action is an experiment, not a verdict.

This helps an insight become usable without pretending it was certain all along. If the plain version feels wrong, revise it; the metaphor doesn’t get the final word.
