Revise One Sentence You Use to Describe Yourself
Some descriptions fit so neatly that we stop noticing what they leave out. Try treating one sentence about yourself as a draft—not to make it sound better, but to make it more accurate.
Write it down, then ask:
- Is this true in every situation, or only some?
- Does this wording feel like mine?
- What detail would make it more complete?
For example, someone might change “I’m bad at explaining myself” to “I sometimes need time to find the words for what matters to me.” The second sentence doesn’t claim a hidden truth; it simply leaves room for context and change.
A clearer sentence can help another person understand you without turning one moment into your whole identity. What would you keep, change, or qualify?
