Turn a Mistake Into the Next Learning Question
A useful learning review doesn’t need to label an attempt a success or failure. It can show what to try next.
After practicing something new, write three short notes:
- I expected… What did you think you could do or explain?
- I observed… What happened when you tried it?
- Next I’ll check… What specific question did the gap reveal?
For example: “I expected to explain this idea clearly. I could describe it, but couldn’t give a counterexample. Next I’ll test where the idea stops applying.” Revisit that question with a fresh example in a week. The goal isn’t to prove mastery; it’s to let evidence choose the next useful practice.
