Reserve Capacity for the Work That Keeps Service Reliable
A new service can look affordable at launch while quietly borrowing time from the people keeping existing dependable.
Before expanding it, add a named upkeep allowance to the plan: who handles routine support, what that includes, and what gets paused if demand exceeds the capacity set aside. Review it after the service has been running long enough to see what support actually requires.
If the allowance keeps getting exceeded, treat that as evidence to adjust scope, staffing, or the service promise—not as a reason to let maintenance happen invisibly. is more sustainable when the that keeps delivery reliable has a place on the plan, too.
