Let Feedback Improve the Finish Line—Not Move It Forever

Feedback can make a nearly finished project feel unfinished again. Every suggestion opens a new path; not every path belongs in this version.

Try a feedback filter before revising:

  • Change now: fixes something essential to the agreed goal.
  • Test: could help, but needs evidence first.
  • Later: worthwhile, but outside this version’s scope.

Then choose one change that matters, make it, and review the result against the original definition of “done.” If the feedback shows that the goal itself should change, agree on a new finish line—don’t quietly let the project expand.

For one open commitment, sort the latest feedback this way and set a review point. The aim isn’t to resist improvement; it’s to finish a deliberate version you can learn from.
