Give AI Tool Access an Expiration Date

An AI workflow’s permissions should be treated like a resource with an owner and a review date—not a permanent setup detail.

For one bounded workflow, try a permission review at the end of the pilot:

  • List the tools and data the workflow can access, and what each access is needed for.
  • Remove anything the workflow no longer needs.
  • Set a review point for any access that remains, with a named owner and a clear way to revoke it if the workflow fails or changes.

This helps preserve useful automation without leaving yesterday’s access in place by default. A permission that is never revisited can become quiet technical debt.
