Give a Decision One Honest Challenge Before It Hardens

Before committing to a decision, try a brief challenge round. The person who owns the choice states the outcome they want and one assumption it depends on. Then invite someone affected to name what might be missing—or what evidence could change the plan.

The owner still decides, but closes by saying what they heard, whether it changes the choice, and when they’ll review it. That gives challenge a real route to influence without turning every decision into an endless debate. A plan is stronger when it can be corrected without making correction a contest for control.
