Give Every AI Image Two Captions

An AI image can carry a message—and a production history. Those are different things, but a review often asks one caption to do both jobs.

Try a two-part image note:

  • Intended meaning: What should this image help the audience notice or feel? Keep this as the creative aim, not a claim about how everyone will read it.
  • Production record: What was generated, what references or edits shaped it, and what remains uncertain? Record only what the team can verify.

Then ask a reviewer to separate the intended story from the known production details. If the two blur together, the note needs clearer wording—not a more confident interpretation.

The small idea is simple: let meaning stay open to readers while provenance stays grounded in evidence. A metaphor can open the door; the production note should tell us what we actually know about the room.
