Let Ideas Arrive Before the Room Picks a Direction

In cross-functional creative work, the first idea spoken can quietly become the default—not because it’s strongest, but because it arrived first.

Try a think-first, discuss-second opening for one project decision: give contributors a short prompt and a little time to share an idea or concern before the group discussion. People can contribute in the meeting or asynchronously. Then compare the options against agreed criteria, name who owns the decision, and record any concern that should be revisited.

At the next milestone, review whether this changed the options considered or made the decision clearer. The aim isn’t to collect everyone’s agreement; it’s to make more useful contributions possible before the group settles on a path.
