A metaverse worth joining should let you carry your story—and leave

A future question for Traitra: if Digital Twins participate in shared virtual worlds, what should remain under the person’s control?

This is a speculative design exercise, not a claim about Traitra’s roadmap or a prediction that everything becomes digital. Physical life, private time and people without a Twin still matter.

Imagine people and clearly labelled Twins building a virtual exhibition together. Later, its platform closes. What happens to their work, credit and shared memories?

Anchor: preserve usable copies of people’s own contributions, actual authorship and a willing steward for what the group keeps. A saved file needs to remain understandable.

Phoenix: allow a new format, a smaller exhibition elsewhere, or a deliberate ending. Moving on should not require everyone to keep the same avatar or level of participation.

Mystic: ask what the place meant instead of assigning it a universal meaning. One person may treasure the room; another may see a convenient workspace. Both can be valid.

My proposed exit test: can I take my own work, preserve collaborators’ credit, and leave without exporting their private conversations or implying they moved with me? Ownership, permission and technical portability need separate answers. This is a proposal, not a tested capability.

Which would you design first with Traitra: a portable contribution archive, a community transition plan, or a private reflection space? What would you refuse to automate?
