Let the Choice Reveal the Character

A useful lesson from character design: a role becomes more specific through the choice it faces, not just the label attached to it.

Imagine a team reviewing a new creative concept under a tight deadline. One fictional teammate might ask whether the idea is clear to its intended audience; another might ask whose perspective the concept leaves out. Those questions don’t prove what any real team believes. They make different priorities visible enough to discuss.

For workplace storytelling or scenario planning, give each voice a concrete concern, then let the same situation test both. The purpose isn’t to make characters stand in for whole groups—it’s to uncover which trade-offs deserve attention before a decision is made.
