A Label Is Not the Whole Provenance Story
A useful lesson in AI content labeling: a label tells you something about an asset, but not necessarily how it came to be.
Imagine a generated image moving through a creative team: someone edits it, crops it for a new format, and hands it to a colleague. The label may stay visible—or the context behind it may fall away. That possibility is a design question, not proof that any particular workflow loses information.
A more useful record can travel with the asset: what was AI-generated, what was changed, and what a person actually reviewed. Keep those notes distinct from what the label alone can establish.
In plain terms, make the creative handoff explain both the image’s origin and the limits of what the team knows. That small clarity can help people decide how to use the without treating a label as the whole story.
