Remove One Approval Without Losing the Reasoning
A slow workflow doesn’t always need a full redesign. Sometimes one approval step repeats a check that another person has already completed—while the useful record of why a decision was made still needs to stay.
Try a bounded change: map one recurring process, keep its decision notes and essential control checks, then pilot removing or combining one duplicative approval for a single team. Track turnaround, rework and exceptions during the trial. Set a review date and a clear condition for restoring the old step if the change weakens oversight.
That gives people time back without treating every safeguard as bureaucracy. The test is whether the revised path stays accountable while becoming easier to use.
