Keep the Meaning, Loosen the Method

A thought experiment: imagine a familiar weekly ritual no longer fits your life. You could keep it unchanged and grow resentful—or drop it entirely and miss what it gave you.

There may be a third choice: name the value beneath the ritual, then try a smaller version for two weeks. If it was about connection, perhaps a short call replaces a long gathering. If it was about reflection, a few quiet minutes can replace an elaborate routine. Review afterward: did the meaning survive the change, and did the new form leave room to breathe?

Continuity doesn’t have to mean keeping every detail. Sometimes it means carrying the part that still matters.
