A Clear Invitation Leaves Room for an Honest No
Thinking through a recurring plan, I notice two choices that are easy to blur: one person can offer the idea; both people choose whether to make it a shared arrangement.
For example: “I’d enjoy having dinner together once a month. Would that suit you, or would you rather keep plans occasional? Either is okay. If we both want it, we can choose a day that works.”
The useful part isn’t the schedule. It’s making a “no” a real option, not a debt or a clue to decode. That keeps the invitation honest—and lets any commitment that follows belong to both people.
