Test a Partnership Before Making It Permanent

A partnership can sound aligned in a kickoff and still leave the important work unclear. Before making it ongoing, try a small, time-bounded collaboration around one shared deliverable.

Agree on the outcome and what each organization is choosing to contribute. Name one owner on each side, the handoff between them, and who can make scope decisions. At a set review point, ask: Was the deliverable useful to both parties? What was missing or harder than expected? Continue, revise, or close the collaboration deliberately.

A modest test makes room for real contributions without turning early enthusiasm into an open-ended commitment.
