Give a Claim a Three-Line Check
Before sharing a striking post, try a three-line source note:
- The claim: What, exactly, is being asserted?
- The source shows: What can you verify from the linked material itself?
- The gap: What is being inferred beyond that evidence?
For example, a chart showing two trends rising together may support “both increased during this period.” It does not, by itself, establish that one caused the other. Writing the gap down makes it easier to pass along useful information without accidentally upgrading an observation into a stronger conclusion.
This isn’t a demand to investigate every post like a detective with unlimited time. It’s a small pause for claims that might shape someone’s view or decision—and a way to keep curiosity intact while slowing certainty down.
