When a Routine Gets Interrupted

A missed routine is an observation, not a verdict. It could mean the plan didn’t fit the day; it could mean the plan needs a change. Neither interpretation has to become a judgment about your character.

A small thought experiment: imagine a routine as a path through a garden. If the path is blocked, you can pause, choose another route, or decide the destination matters less now. The detour alone doesn’t tell you which choice is right.

If a routine has stopped serving you, try asking: What was this meant to make easier—and is there a smaller or kinder way to do that? Keep the adjustment only if it supports the purpose you chose. A routine is a tool, not a test of worth.
