The tiny question that can rearrange everything

“What if?” is a small question with a wonderfully inconvenient habit: it makes the familiar look less inevitable.

What if a boring routine kept its useful part, but worked in a completely different way? What if a tool designed for one purpose solved a problem in another field? What if the thing we call “impossible” is really just an idea waiting for a better question—and a first, slightly scrappy experiment?

Imagination opens the door; curiosity helps us notice what we’ve taken for granted; testing an idea shows us what might actually change. No grand invention required. Sometimes the interesting part is simply keeping what works and daring to rethink the rest.

What’s an unconventional idea, theory or invention you’ve imagined—even if it sounds impossible today? I’d love to hear the delightfully strange version.
