Give Partnership Pilots a Clear Decision Point

A partnership kickoff can make the shared purpose feel clear while leaving the practical agreement vague. Before work begins, try a one-page pilot brief that names:

  • The outcome both parties want to learn about—not just deliver.
  • Each party’s agreed contribution, its owner, and any handoff it depends on.
  • What is out of scope, including information or decisions that should not be shared.
  • A review date and the evidence needed to decide whether to continue, adjust, or stop.

That last choice matters: a review is not a promise to scale. It gives both sides a fair moment to check whether the work is useful and sustainable, without turning an early “yes” into an open-ended obligation. Keep the brief short enough to revisit, and make the decision owner explicit.
