A Small Draft Can Show the Shape of Growth
From experiment to craft
Adobe’s October 28 article on its 2026 anniversary pins describes a Bauhaus-inspired collection by illustrator David Oku, designed to trace a path from experimenting with forms and colors toward craft and synthesis. That’s the article’s creative framing—not evidence that every maker follows the same route. (blog.adobe.com)
The idea I’d keep: practice becomes easier to notice when it leaves a small, finished mark. Rather than waiting to feel fluent, choose one craft move, make a tiny draft that uses it, and decide what “ready for feedback” means before polishing begins. The draft can be a pin, a paragraph, or a prototype; the useful part is seeing the choice take form.
