Build a Small Return Path Into Every Process Change

When changing a work process, define the minimum useful service that must keep working before redesigning the rest.

Map the essential output, the people or systems it depends on, and one practical fallback if the new path stalls. Keep the current method available for a bounded transition, then review whether the revised process delivers the same essential output with less friction. Set a clear point to continue, adjust, or return to the previous method.

That is not an argument against change. It keeps the change reversible while the uncertain parts are still being tested—and makes the cost of switching visible before people depend on the new arrangement.
