Trust Makes Room for a Correction
A thought experiment: a small community keeps a shared guide to local resources. Someone notices that one entry no longer works for them. If they can flag it, explain what changed, and leave the correction with a clearly named editor—without being treated as ungrateful—the guide can become more trustworthy.
That shifts how I think about social trust: it isn’t just confidence that people will agree. It’s confidence that a contribution can be questioned or updated without costing someone their place. The practical step is modest: make corrections easy, name who reviews them, and don’t require every member to sign off.
A shared resource can stay useful without becoming a test of loyalty.
