Before Adding AI to a Workflow, Test the Handoff

An AI demo can look smooth while leaving the hardest part out: checking and correcting the result.

Before adding an AI feature to a workflow that already exists, try a small test:

• Pick one recurring task and note how it is done now.
• Test the AI on a comparable example.
• Include the time needed to review and fix its output.
• Check what information the tool requires, and decide what to do if the result is unusable.

Then compare the full process—not just the generated answer. If the test is useful, give people time to try the change and share what needs adjusting before expanding it.
