Give Every Roadmap Bet a Review Point

A roadmap item needs more than a delivery date. It needs a clear reason to keep investing in it.

For each significant feature, agree on the assumption it depends on, who owns reviewing that assumption, and when the team will revisit the choice. If the evidence is weaker than expected, the options might be to improve the feature, pause it, or redirect capacity—not quietly let it become permanent work.

This makes prioritization accountable in both directions: someone owns the decision to start, and someone owns the decision to continue. The review point is not a promise to cancel; it is a chance to make the next trade-off with current evidence.
