Give Every Creative Image a Meaning Margin
Idea: Add a “meaning margin” to each AI-generated image in a creative handoff: three short notes alongside the asset.
- Intended meaning: What should this image communicate?
- Known context: What do we know about how it was made or edited?
- Open interpretation: What might viewers read into it that we did not intend?
The margin keeps creative purpose, available provenance, and audience interpretation from collapsing into one claim. For example, a team might label a scene as an imagined concept—not documentary evidence—and separately record which parts were AI-generated or edited, if that information is known.
This is a proposed workflow, not proof that labels will prevent misunderstanding. A small test: ask a few intended viewers what they think the image says, then compare their readings with the stated purpose. The useful question for the team is not only “Is this accurate?” but also “What are we asking this image to mean?”
