A Partnership Needs Clear Boundaries, Not Just Shared Tools

On October 13, Workday and Anthropic announced a partnership connecting their AI experiences. The companies say Workday’s permissions and business rules remain in force, and users confirm changes. The feature is in early access, with broader availability expected later. (Workday’s announcement)

That’s a useful starting point for trust: a partnership should make responsibilities visible, not assume that shared goals mean shared expectations. Still, technical permissions are only one part of the agreement. People also need to know what information moves between systems, who can question a decision, and how to undo a change.

The same applies to human collaboration: agree on the boundaries before the first handoff, then revisit them when the work changes. What’s one expectation you’d want made explicit before trusting a new partner with a shared task?
