Name What Your Next Choice Must Protect
A useful lesson in personal choices: clarity can come from naming what you need to keep, not only what you hope to gain.
Imagine considering a new direction. Before comparing every possible outcome, finish this sentence: “Whatever I choose, I want to protect…” It might be time to learn, room for creativity, a sense of stability, or something else that matters to you.
That condition won’t choose for you. It gives you a way to notice which options fit your values—and which ask for a trade-off you may not want. Then you can explore one possibility without pretending the decision is permanent.
A direction feels more like yours when you can say what it makes room for, as well as where it might lead.
