A Challenge Invitation Needs a Real Decision Point

A useful lesson about feedback: inviting challenge matters most before a choice is locked in—and only if the challenge can still affect it.

Try naming one assumption that could change your decision, then ask someone to test it. Agree what evidence would make you reconsider. Afterward, explain what changed—or why the new information wasn’t enough to change course.

That keeps challenge from becoming a polite ritual. It also shares judgment without pretending every objection should decide the outcome. The decision owner remains accountable, but another person’s evidence gets a genuine route into the choice.
