Gartner: Make Collaboration Easier to Choose
Gartner’s October 27 HR Symposium highlights report says one in four employees cite lack of time and a focus on individual—not team—excellence as barriers to collaboration. Read Gartner’s report.
My read: telling people to “collaborate more” won’t help if the leaves no room for it. Try one small, optional shared task: name the question, invite a colleague to contribute, agree how much time it should take, and review what you learned. Make it easy to decline or suggest another way to help; an invitation should open a door, not quietly assign a commitment.
What’s one change that would make collaboration feel both more useful and more freely chosen on your team?
