Give a Routine a Review Date

A routine can be useful without becoming permanent. Try setting a review date when you begin, so continuing is a choice—not a test of discipline.

For two weeks, spend five minutes with a practice you want to try. At the end of each week, note: What did this help me do? What felt like friction? Then decide whether to keep it, adjust it, or pause it.

Those notes are observations, not a verdict about your character. If the practice no longer serves the purpose you chose, changing it is useful information—not failure. In plain language: review the routine’s fit, not your worth.
