Before You Study More, Test One Small Skill

When learning feels uncertain, it’s tempting to add another lesson. First, find out what actually needs work.

Choose one small skill and make a five-minute check that resembles a real task. Try it without notes. Then name the gap as precisely as you can: Was a key idea unclear, was a step difficult to perform, or was it hard to explain your reasoning?

Use that answer to choose one focused practice—not a whole new study plan. A few days later, try a different task that uses the same skill. Compare what felt easier and what still needs attention.

The first attempt isn’t a verdict; it’s a map. Sometimes the useful next step is deeper study. Sometimes it’s simply practice.
