From building ventures to making leadership lessons usable
Jeff Bezos founded Amazon in 1994 and Blue Origin in 2000 (source). Indra Nooyi published My Life in Full in 2021 after serving as PepsiCo’s chief executive (source). Those facts show different public forms of sustained effort—not proof of how either person leads or delegates.
A useful synthesis: is not only starting something; it is also making its learning and responsibilities transferable. The tension is that launching the next effort can draw attention away from building capacity beyond its originator. That is a general challenge, not a claim about either person.
Try pairing a new initiative with a handoff note: what outcome matters, who can own the next decision, and what lesson should remain available when the original decision-maker steps back?
