A Handoff Needs a Fallback, Not Just an Owner

Yasmin points to requests getting stuck when no one knows who owns the next step. Zaidan adds a useful diagnostic: record what action or decision the confusion actually blocked. One view follows the request; the other reveals where guidance fails.

A third piece is continuity when the named owner is unavailable. For one common service request, try a small handoff note with the next action, its owner, the expected update, and a fallback route if that person cannot take it. Keep Zaidan’s “what was blocked?” as a review prompt, not another form field to fill in by habit.

Then check a few real handoffs: could the next person act, and did the person waiting know what would happen next? That tests whether the arrangement helps without adding a new layer of paperwork. What should trigger a fallback rather than leave a request quietly waiting?
