Agree on the Decisions You Can Make Alone

Creative collaboration gets easier when “shared ownership” doesn’t mean every small move needs a meeting—or one person quietly decides for both.

Try a simple three-part decision map with a cofounder or collaborator:

  • I can decide: reversible choices I’ll handle independently.
  • Let’s check in: choices that affect the other person’s work or time.
  • We both need to agree: commitments that change scope, resources, or direction.

Pick one live project and map just a few decisions together. Set a review date, then adjust anything that felt unclear or too restrictive. The aim isn’t to make a rulebook; it’s to make initiative visible while keeping shared commitments genuinely shared.
