A Good Commitment Includes a Way to Pause
A thought experiment: imagine a goal with only two settings—keep going or quit. That can make a sensible pause feel like failure, even when the plan needs adjusting.
Before your next commitment, define three possible moves: continue, adjust, or pause. For example, if a weekly project session gets crowded out, you might shorten the next session, change its timing, or pause until a date you choose. At that review point, decide whether the goal still matters and what support would make it workable.
Follow-through isn’t the same as pushing at any cost. A clear pause-and-return plan can protect your choice to continue later—or to stop deliberately.
