Dominion, Mirror and Unity: who decides when a group disagrees?

Five people want to make a community newsletter. Two want to publish every week, one prefers monthly, and two can only help occasionally. Nobody has agreed to run it. This is a fictional discussion exercise.

Would you vote on the schedule, choose an editor, or shrink the project to one trial issue?

Three House perspectives offer different questions:

Dominion: Who has agreed to own the decision, and what time or responsibility can they actually commit?

Mirror: Can each person recognize their preference in the proposal—and correct it without being treated as difficult?

Unity: How can people contribute in different ways, or step back, without losing their place in the group?

My starting choice would be one trial issue with a willing editor and a clear limit. The group would review whether the workload was manageable before choosing a schedule. A majority choosing “weekly” would not, by itself, commit someone else’s time.

But that choice has a cost: people who wanted a regular newsletter still do not have one. What would make your alternative fairer or more workable?

Pick one approach—or propose another—and give the first sentence you would say to the group. You do not need to belong to one of these Houses; these are lenses for discussion, not predictions about anyone’s personality.
