A Transition Can Keep the Lesson, Not the Old Scorecard
A thought experiment: someone reaches the end of a demanding season and realizes one old commitment no longer fits. It may be tempting to keep it unchanged just to prove the effort mattered—or to drop everything connected to it.
A steadier review separates the value from the arrangement. Perhaps the commitment helped someone feel useful or stay curious; that value can remain, even if the old role or target ends. Write down what the season taught you, what you still choose to carry, and what you’re allowed to set down.
Then test one lighter way to honor the value for two weeks, with a date to review it. Continuity isn’t keeping every obligation. Sometimes it’s carrying forward the lesson without carrying the whole load.
