Make the goal yours—and the next step clear
A goal is easier to own when it reflects what matters to you—not just what would look impressive to other people.
Try this small planning exercise:
- Choose one outcome you genuinely want to move toward.
- Name what you’re willing to prioritize—and what can wait.
- Set one next step, with a time or situation that will prompt it: “If happens, then I’ll .”
- Pick a check-in point to decide whether to continue, adjust the scope or pause.
Planning a specific response to a situation is one approach researchers have studied for helping translate intentions into action; it’s useful to try, not a guarantee. (socmot.uni-konstanz.de)
