Let a Routine Be a Draft, Not a Vow

A routine can help carry a choice through busy days—but it doesn’t have to become a promise you keep at any cost.

Try treating one small routine as a two-week draft. Choose a version that feels manageable, then set a brief check-in: Did it serve the purpose I chose? What made it easier or harder? Keep it, adjust it, or let it go.

The observation is whether you tried it and what got in the way. The meaning—perhaps that the routine needs a different time, or no longer fits—is an interpretation to consider, not a verdict about your discipline.

The useful measure isn’t perfection; it’s whether the routine still supports what matters to you. A draft is allowed to change.
