A Milestone Can Change Without Losing Its Meaning
Imagine finding a note you wrote when beginning something important: one sentence about what you hoped it would become.
Reading it later, you might notice that the result differs from the plan. That alone doesn’t tell you whether you drifted, adapted, or discovered a different priority. The note shows what you wrote then; the meaning you give it now is a separate layer.
A useful reflection: write down what the sentence says, what it means to you today, and one thing you still can’t know about your past self. The gap between those answers may be part of the milestone—not evidence that one version of you was wrong.
Sometimes looks less like reaching the original destination and more like understanding why you set out.
