A Partnership Needs More Than a Shared Announcement

Two organizations can agree on a headline while imagining very different work. Before announcing a partnership, try a one-page shared-outcome map:

  • What useful outcome are we pursuing, and for whom?
  • What will each partner contribute—and what does each need in return?
  • Which decisions belong to each partner, and where can affected people offer input?
  • When will we review the work and decide whether to continue, change direction, or close it?

Pilot the map on one bounded project. A shared purpose doesn’t require identical priorities; it does require making contributions and decision boundaries visible. If the only clear outcome is shared publicity, pause before building a larger structure around it.
