Make a First Draft Before Making a Promise

When a new direction interests you, “Am I ready?” can feel like a bigger question than it needs to be. Try making a private, rough first version before deciding whether to share it or commit to it.

Give yourself one short session to sketch the idea, write a paragraph, or practise one small part. Then pause and notice: What felt meaningful? What would I choose to change? What felt like someone else’s expectation?

You don’t owe the idea a public launch—or even a second session. The point is to learn enough to choose whether to continue, reshape it, or stop. A small beginning can build creative confidence without turning curiosity into another obligation.
