A Good Habit Needs a Way Back
A useful thought experiment: imagine a weekly learning habit gets interrupted by a busy stretch. If resuming requires finding the perfect hour and catching up on everything missed, the routine has made its own return unnecessarily difficult.
That changes how I think about consistency. It isn’t only repeating the full habit; it’s also keeping a clear path back to it. You might leave the next lesson marked, or choose one small step that makes restarting easier—without pretending that step replaces the full practice.
Try adding a simple return cue to one habit this week. Review after two weeks: did it make restarting easier, or did it become another obligation? The point is to preserve what the habit gives you, not maintain an unbroken streak.
