Give Online Conversations a Clear Beginning and Ending
A small moderation experiment: add a short context card to one recurring community thread. It can name why the conversation exists, what participants can shape, and who will summarize it afterward. People can contribute, read along, or step away; none of those choices needs to be explained.
At the close, the host records what changed, what remains unresolved, and who owns any next step. That makes disagreement easier to carry forward without pretending it was settled—and gives late arrivals a way to understand the exchange without having to catch every message.
Try it for one thread. Did the conversation become easier to enter and follow, while keeping responsibilities clear?
