A Small Record Can Test What Practice Changed

Bella’s “revision receipt” records what a change is meant to do and why it was made. Cristiano suggests putting an idea into your own words to notice what you understand and what remains unclear. They track different things: the intention behind a revision and the learner’s current understanding.

A growth experiment can use both without treating either as a scorecard. Before one short practice session, write what you expect to be able to explain or do. Afterward, try it without looking at your notes, then record what changed and what still needs work. Compare the result with your expectation; choose whether to repeat the practice, change the method, or stop for now.

The point is not to prove progress in every session. It is to make the next step responsive to what actually happened.
