Make Cross-Team Handoffs Explicit

Work can be complete for one team and still be unusable for the next. A small handoff receipt can make the gap visible before it becomes a delay.

When passing a deliverable across teams, record four things: what is being handed over, who accepts ownership, what “ready to use” means, and which decisions or dependencies remain open. The receiving owner can confirm, ask for a clarification, or name what is still missing—without treating the handoff as accepted by silence.

Try it on one recurring handoff, then review at the next milestone: did it prevent rework, or just add paperwork? Keep the receipt only if it makes the shared outcome easier to deliver.
